I am amazed the song Rock Star by Hole has held up so well over the past 10 years. This is such a great song. It is still one of my favorite songs of the 90s. Whenever I hear it I turn it all the way up and sing along.
I think this album, Live Through This, is the last grunge album. It was released just days before Kurt Cobain died. This is the point where the early 90s and the focus on Generation X started to come to a close. In 1995 the biggest musical acts where Ace of Base, Coolie, and Hootie & The Blowfish. Since I was in college during the whole grunge era, it is somewhat important to me.
I love the lyrics of this song. They still speak to me:
