What are five books that changed your life?
Inspired by Ms. Genevieve.
1. The Sportswriter - Richard Ford
Ford is the first writer who used language in a way that was both interesting and accessible. I felt like I really knew the characters of this book.
2. Of Mice and Men - John Steinbeck
Short and amazing at the same time. I think there is not a word in this book that could be cut out. I think this books is timeless. He has something to say about the nature of manhood and friendship that I will never forget.
3. The Watchmen - Alan Moore & Dave Gibbson
My Brother Sean brought the Graphic novel of the Watchmen home with him Christmas Break from college. He had borrowed it from a class mate. I most have read it 50 times in that month. When he went back I had to give him money for a new copy.
4. Generation X - Douglas Coupland
I think this is the first novel I read as an adult
5. High Fidelity - Nick Hornsby
I think this novel changed the way I looked at the world. I sold off my 1000 CD music collection shortly after reading this book.
