I have been listening to a lot of sad music lately. It seems to fit my mood. This is the title track of the new Magnolia Electric co album. This album will find a track on my best of 2006 mix.
The album is great because it is lean. It is only nine tracks. There is not a track on the album that I ever want to skip. Every moment of the album is great.
I know that alt.country is not for everyone. I still think this album is really worth a listen.

Someone on Live Journal ask for songs for a mixtape about blood. Blood Makes Noise is the first thing that came to mind. 99.9F still sounds great. It is one of my favorite albums from the 90s. I always wonder why I did not hear more albums like this. I thought I would hear more albums with this combination of feminist themes and industrial sounds. I was also amazed at the level of feminism as a personal struggle on this album. I guess this album was over shadowed by riot grrrls.
I loved this song even before I saw the video. I saw this video and thought, "Wow, the video makes me like the song even more." It has been a long time since I have thought that. The last time I thought that was for the Matthew Good Band Song - The Future is X Rated. It is good to know a video can still excite me.
Jeremy used to tell me that this sing reminded him of me. He always thought that if I made music, it would be like Too Much Joy.
I am posting this because Buzz just got a new Drum Machine.

Sometimes the Beatles got it so right. You never no how right they got it until it happens to you. I think that is a sign of greatness for an artist.
I have a professor in college who said that the Beatles where the Shakespeare of the 20th Century. As bold of a statement that is, I cannot disagree with that idea.
I wonder if we will even have a Shakespeare of the 21st Century.

I have been listening to Cat Power's album a lately. It has fit my mood lately. It is one of the best albums this year. That is saying a lot because this has been a good year for music. There is just something about her voice that just haunts me.
Once I wanted to be the greatest
No wind of waterfall could stall me
And then came the rush of the flood
Stars of night turned deep to dust

The other day Buzz was telling me that he never got into Neutral Milk Hotel. I was shocked when I heard that. In the Aeroplane over the Sea is not only one of the best albums of the 1990's. I think it is one of the best albums of all time. Just about everyone I know who has heard this album loves it.
My favorite song on the album is King Of Carrot Flowers Part 2 and Part 3. I did not post that here because I know that most people do not understand that song the first time they hear it. Holland, 1945 is a better song to hear first.
